Your baby is turning one? Or maybe you are celebrating a milestone birthday? Cake smashes are fun for any ages!
What should I bring to my cake smash session?
Great question! Here are a few of my recommendations:
Small smash cake & cake stand
It is not a cake smash session without the cake! You can pick up a small cake from just about anywhere or bake your own! if you need a baker recommendation, let me know! A cake stand is not a must, since we can set the cake on the ground, (or for adults, have you hold it) but it's nice to bring in case you want to use one.
Wood numbers
Little wooden numbers are a fun prop for a one year old cake smash!
Balloons
Balloons are a fun prop for any cake smash session!
Baby wipes & water
I highly recommend bringing baby wipes to wipe up the messes we make + your little one and to bring water for the smasher to drink. Babies get very thirsty when eating cake, so lots of water is a must!
Outfit change
Bring an outfit change to get your little one out of their messy cake clothes! I even recommend showing up in an outfit you'd like to start with for the photos, then change into the cake smash outfit.
Other fun ideas to consider:
For adults- bring some wine to add some spice to your photos.
For babies- a favorite toy for them to play with during the session and/or to incorporate into the photos/
What should I/my child wear to my cake smash session?
Whatever YOU want!
Wear an outfit you'd like for pre- cake smash photos & then an outfit you are ok getting dirty for the cake smash.
